02 Dec 4 Player to Help Build Your Best NBA FanDuel Lineup (12/2/19)
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend full of food, relaxation, and family time. The NBA schedule gets a little irregular around the holidays, but this week, we have an exciting schedule of games.
Tonight, we have a six-game NBA slate on FanDuel.
Below are four of my favorite targets to help build your best NBA FanDuel lineup for tonight’s main slate.
As always, keep an eye out for news throughout the day, and feel free to contact me on Twitter with any questions.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (SF, $12,200)
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a quality high-end target tonight, despite being the highest-priced player on the slate. With so much value available, it is easy to fit in Anteokounmpo, locking in his elite production level.
The one concern with Antetokounmpo is that the Bucks are 16-point favorites over the New York Knicks tonight. There is a chance that in a blowout scenario, he wouldn’t see his final rotation in the fourth quarter, which limits his upside.
However, we saw a similar scenario on Saturday in which Antetokounmpo had his second-worst game of the season, but still scored 44.8 FanDuel fantasy points in 19 minutes.
Even if he only sees 27 minutes in this game, which is 5 minutes less than his season average, he should still reach value.
Another counterpoint to the blowout concern is that if the Bucks indeed blow out the Knicks tonight, Antetokounmpo will be a key part of that. With Brook Lopez off the floor this season, Antetokounmpo is averaging an insane 41.7% usage rate and 1.89 FanDuel fantasy points per minute.
With the amount of value targets tonight, this slate is shaping up to be a stars-and-scrubs build.
Trae Young (PG, $10,000)
Trae Young projects as one of the best high-priced options on tonight’s slate. This season, Young is averaging 1.34 FanDuel fantasy points per minute with a 34.9% usage rate. He leads the team with 28.4 points and 8.4 assists per game, as well as with a 44.1% assist rate.
Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks are in an ideal matchup against the Golden State Warriors. This game has the highest total on the board at 223 total points, and both teams are top-13 in the league in pace. This is an ideal game environment for Young due to the high pace and lack of defensive quality for either team.
Young also projects well because of the options around him in his price range. He is sandwiched by Joel Embiid ($10,900) and Ben Simmons ($8,900), who are both in a tough matchup against the Utah Jazz.
Trae Young is an elite fantasy producer with a high floor and outstanding upside. Look to him to fill out one of those point guard slots tonight.
Tyus Jones (PG, $4,000)
Tyus Jones stands out as the most obvious value play for tonight’s slate on FanDuel. Ja Morant is currently week-to-week with back spasms, moving Jones into the starting role. In his first game as a starter, Jones played 25 minutes and scored 31.30 FanDuel fantasy points. After scoring almost 10x value on Sunday, his price tag only rose $400 from $3,600 to $4,000.
Tonight, the Memphis Grizzlies have a home matchup against the Indiana Pacers. While this is not necessarily an ideal matchup for Memphis, Jones’s low price and high minute expectation more than make up for that.
In GPPs, there is merit to fading Jones due to high expected ownership percentage, but he is a lock in cash games at this price. Take advantage of FanDuel’s pricing error and load up on Jones tonight at his bargain-bin salary.
Robin Lopez (C, $3,500)
Another standout value tonight is Milwaukee Bucks’ center Robin Lopez. His brother, Brook, is doubtful for tonight’s game, which will open up opportunities for Robin to see more minutes. On Saturday, with Brook out, Robin played 23 minutes and dropped 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, totaling 33.2 FanDuel fantasy points.
The Bucks are in a tremendous spot tonight against the New York Knicks, and their 119.25 implied team total is 5 points higher than any other team on the slate. The Knicks rank 23rd in the league in defensive efficiency, and the Bucks will need Lopez’s size against the NY frontcourt.
The center position on FanDuel is valuable since there is only one spot, but Lopez unlocks the ability to fit in multiple studs, including Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young. Lopez is a great salary-saver for fantasy owners’ lineups so they can spend up elsewhere.
