Daily Fantasy Must Starts for Week 1

The time has finally come, Week 1 of the NFL season has finally arrived! I’ve been gearing up for this day for a very long time. The NFL being back means fantasy football come with it and as a big daily fantasy player, I’m always looking to find the best value at each position to give myself the best chance of cashing in week-to-week. I’m here to tell you which guys I love this week around the league.

Here are my must play guys for daily fantasy during Week 1.

Quarterback – Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars

Gardner Minshew is my spicy play for Week 1. I understand he’s playing against a great Indianapolis Colts defense, but with everything that has been going on this offseason with the Jags one thing is certain, they will be a dysfunctional football team playing from behind in a lot of games this year.

Playing from behind in games means ample opportunities to throw the ball and I see Minshew doing a lot of that Week 1. You give this guy 30+ pass attempts throughout the game and you’ll get rewarded handsomely, I expect a couple of scores from Minshew and for players across the offense to reap the benefits in daily fantasy.

Running back – Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Jacobs is the beneficiary of a Week 1 with a match-up against the porous Carolina Panthers defense. Last season the Panthers gave up the most fantasy points per game to running backs. Jacobs is the bell cow for Vegas and he’s the engine that gets that offense going. Expect head coach Jon Gruden to give the ball early and often to Jacobs and he’ll cash in a big fantasy day if given the chance. I want all the daily fantasy shares I can get with Jacobs and you should too, don’t miss out on Jacobs because you will be sorry.

Wide Receiver – Marvin Jones, Detroit Lions

Marvin Jones has a really great daily fantasy opportunity out of the gate against the Chicago Bears. His teammate Kenny Golladay is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game due to injury, and Jones could see an even larger target share than normal. Last season with Matthew Stafford healthy Jones averaged over 16 fantasy points per game and was frequently targeted in the red zone.

This Lions offense loves to throw it vertically and Jones has a great chance to cash in for a couple of scores. I expect this game to be high scoring so don’t be surprised if you see Jones with a monster day.

Tight End – Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

Tyler Higbee is going to feast against the Dallas Cowboys this week. Higbee burst onto the scene at the end of last year becoming one of Jared Goff‘s go-to targets. Higbee rewarded fantasy players everywhere with this incredible production. With Dallas’s young and inexperienced secondary as the target, this is a prime match-up for Higbee.

I expect a ton of pass attempts in Week 1 and Higbee will cash in with all these opportunities. He is my TE1 for Week 1 so I’m all in on Higbee.
